Ribbons respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our mobile app. It also clarifies your rights and options regarding the control of your data.
Our commitment is to ensure transparency, security, and respect, making sure that your information is used only for the necessary purposes and within the ecosystem you authorize.

1. Information We Collect
We collect only the data strictly necessary to provide Ribbons’ features and deliver a personalized and safe experience. The information we may collect includes:
- Account Information: name, email address, profile picture, and optional data provided during registration.
- Connected Services: basic data such as username, playlists, music history, most played games, or books in progress, always according to the permissions you grant.
- Access Tokens: required to maintain integrations with services. These tokens are securely stored via CloudKit.
- Content Shared in the App: information exchanged between you and your friends in Ribbons (such as shared interests, matches, or messages), visible only to friends inside the app.
- Technical Data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and error logs, collected in a limited way to improve performance, compatibility, and security.

2. How We Use Your Information
The collected information is used to:
- Provide Ribbons’ core features, such as recommendations, matches, and sharing with friends;
- Enable integrations with Apple Music, Steam, Hardcover, and YouTube;
- Display your data only to friends you have added;
- Protect your account against unauthorized access and prevent abuse;
- Improve performance and develop new features;
- Comply with legal obligations when applicable.
3. Sharing of Information
Your data is not sold or used for commercial purposes. Sharing only occurs under the following circumstances:
- Between Friends in the App: only added friends can see the information you share.
- With Connected Services: Apple Music, Steam, Hardcover, and YouTube have access only to the data required, always with your authorization.
- YouTube API: Ribbons uses the YouTube API. When using related features, you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements: information may be disclosed if required by law or court order.
4. Your Choices and Rights
In Ribbons, you may at any time:
- Revoke access granted to connected platforms;
- Delete your account and all stored data;
- Manage what information you wish to share with friends;
- Request support or clarifications regarding privacy.
5. Security and Retention
We use CloudKit to securely store information. Access tokens remain restricted to Ribbons and are never redistributed.
Data is kept only while your account is active. If deletion is requested, all data is permanently erased.
6. Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be updated periodically. We will always publish the latest version in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the new conditions.
