Terms of Use – Ribbons

Welcome to Ribbons! By accessing and using our application, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read this document carefully, as it governs how you may use the application and describes your rights and responsibilities.

1. About Ribbons

Ribbons is an application designed to facilitate the sharing of interests among friends, promoting connections based on common tastes. To provide its functionalities, Ribbons integrates data from external platforms such as Apple Music, Steam, Hardcover, and YouTube.

2. Acceptance and Changes to Terms

By using the application, you confirm your agreement with these Terms of Use. We reserve the right to modify or update the Terms at any time. Changes will be published directly in the app, and continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

3. Use of the Application

Ribbons must be used exclusively for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to use the application for:

  • Illegal, unlawful, or fraudulent activities;
  • Sharing offensive, discriminatory content or content that violates third-party rights;
  • Interfering with the operation of the service, reverse engineering, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to app systems.

Ribbons relies on API keys and access tokens authorized by you on each integrated platform. Proper use of these credentials is essential for the functioning of the application.

4. User Account and Registration

To use Ribbons, you must create a user account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information at the time of registration. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and not sharing them with third parties.

5. Integrations and Third-Party Usage

Ribbons uses integrations with external platforms to provide its features. Currently, integrations are supported with Apple Music, Steam, Hardcover, and YouTube. By using these services, you are also subject to their respective Terms of Service and Privacy Policies.

Specifically regarding YouTube: Ribbons uses the YouTube API. When accessing YouTube-related features, you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Data Collection, Use, and Storage

Ribbons collects only the data necessary to provide its main features, such as:

  • Sharing interests with friends;
  • Generating personalized recommendations;
  • Comparing tastes among users.

All data is securely stored via CloudKit, and is never sold or shared for commercial purposes. This data is visible only to your friends in the app and never to external third parties.

You may at any time:

  • Revoke access permissions;
  • Delete your data stored in the application;
  • Manage permissions directly on integrated platforms.

API keys and access tokens authorized by you are never redistributed or shared with third parties under any circumstances.

7. User Rights and Responsibilities

You have the right to:

  • Revoke Ribbons’ access to integrated platforms at any time;
  • Request deletion of all your stored data;
  • Check what data is stored about you;
  • Request support or clarification regarding privacy matters.

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your access credentials secure;
  • Using the application in accordance with applicable law;
  • Not sharing data or content that violates third-party rights.

8. Security and Privacy

Ribbons uses CloudKit to ensure secure data storage. We do not sell or share user data for commercial purposes. Our priority is to protect your privacy and maintain the integrity of your information.

9. Intellectual Property

All elements of Ribbons, including software, design, interface, functionalities, logos, and other content, are the exclusive property of our team or our licensors. Copying, modifying, distributing, commercializing, or creating derivative works of the application without express authorization is strictly prohibited.

10. Limitation of Liability

We do not guarantee that the service will always be free of defects, errors, interruptions, or vulnerabilities. Ribbons is provided “as is,” without additional warranties. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the application.

By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that any claims against us cannot be resolved by a jury or in a court of law, and must be handled within the limits of applicable legislation.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the app in the event of a violation of these Terms. You may also stop using Ribbons at any time by uninstalling the app and revoking granted permissions.
